IMAGERY

                                                                       IMAGERY

The term imagery has many connotations and meanings. Imagery as a general term covers the use of language to represent objects, actions ,feelings ,thoughts, ideas, states of  mind  and any sensory and extra-ordinary experience . According  to C.Day Lewis image (imagery collectively)’ is a picture made out of words’ and that ‘a poem itself be an image composed from a multiplicity of images’. Imagery is said to make poetry concrete. In William Wordsworth’s “She Dwelt among the Untroden Ways” we get the use of imagery through ‘ Untrodden ways,’ springs, grave, etc.
