It is a figure in which abstract ideas are invested with personality,and both inanimate objects and abstract ideas are endowed with the attributes of living beings.
In the example 'opportunity knocks at the door but once'.We find that an abstract idea (opportunity) is endowed with a personal attribute (i.e.the capacity knock at the door).
The main characteristics of this figure are the following:
1) Only inanimate objects (of nature )and abstract ideas are taken into consideration.
2)The abstract idea is endowed with the personality of a living being.
3)Both the inanimate objects and abstract idea are invested with the attributes of being.
